THE AGENCY’S NEWEST OFFICE WILL EXPAND FIRM’S REACH ACROSS SOUTHEAST ASIA AND SUPPORT BUSINESSES LOOKING TO ATTRACT LUXURY CHINESE TRAVELERS
July, 2018 (Singapore) – Reuter Communications, an Asia-focused luxury intelligence, communications and marketing agency, has opened in Singapore to meet demand from regional businesses looking to attract luxury consumers from China.
The office will provide local, on-the-ground capabilities to luxury travel, hospitality and lifestyle businesses wanting to develop strategic marketing, public relations and digital communications initiatives.
“We are seeing a growing interest from businesses in Southeast Asia (SEA) and Australasia in reaching the affluent and increasingly sophisticated Chinese consumers,” says Nick Cakebread, Managing Partner at Reuter Communications.
“Singapore is an ideal location for us to provide support to those clients in the region who seek strategic advice and access to our integrated communications and digital solutions in Greater China,” he added.
The Singapore office will be led by Cindy Choo, Regional Account Director, APAC. She will report to Nick Cakebread. This is the Agency’s fourth office after Shanghai, Hong Kong and Dubai.
The SEA region is currently witnessing a travel boom. Proximity and simplified visa application procedures make Southeast Asian countries the preferred destination of outbound Chinese tourists – the number of Chinese tourists visiting the region has increased fivefold over the past decade and during the 2017 golden week holidays alone, 46% of Chinese travelers chose SEA destinations.
Luxury markets are set to continue surging forward, largely attributed to Chinese travelers, especially from the millennial demographic. Mainland China is forecast to account for the majority of future growth, with recent predictions for the market to grow between 20% and 22%.
